Charles Eldritch. The headmaster of the prestigious Aurelian Academy.

Gideon Creed. One of the dozen Pantedan refugees attending The Aurelian Academy. An accomplished gunsmith and Handler, Gideon is best friend to Reece Sheppard and Hayden Rice.

Genevieve Shepphard. The Grand Duke’s first wife and Liem Sheppard’s mother. Died in childbirth L.F. 1273.

Gus Trimble. Older brother of Po Trimble.

Gustley. The blubbering secretary of Headmaster Charles Eldritch.

Hayden Rice. A lower class Honoran civilian studying at the academy to become a medical doctor and chemist. Best friend to Reece Sheppard and Gideon Creed.

Hugh Rice. Sophie and Hayden Rice’s father and Chief Librarian to the Grand Duke.

Juliet Rice. Hugh Rice’s wife, Hayden and Sophie Rice’s mother. Killed in the Five Year Pandemic L.F. 1285.

Kayl [KALE]. A Pantedan refugee who works in the gunshop in Praxis with Mordecai and Gideon.

Liem Sheppard. The Palatine First, first born son and heir of the Grand Duke.

Mordecai Creed. Gideon Creed’s smuggler grandfather, one of the only Pantedan refugees who actually fought in their planet’s civil war and survived.

Nivy Noemie (NYE-VEE NO-AY-MAY). A mysterious mute visitor to the planet Honora.

Po Trimble. A brilliant Westerner girl who dropped out of The Aurelian Academy at the age of fourteen to work in her father’s shop.

Reece Sheppard. The Palatine Second, second born son of the Grand Duke, whose greatest ambition is to be an airship pilot.

Scarlet Ashdown. A young woman studying Intraplanetary Politics at the academy, from a wealthy family with close ties to the Sheppards and parliament.

Sophie Rice. Hayden Rice’s chirpy twelve year old sister.

Thaddeus Sheppard. Fearsome Grand Duke of planet Honora.

Tilden Trimble. Older brother of Po Trimble.

Tutor Agnes. Senior Instructor for Airship Engineering at the academy.
